Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring an active IL RN license and at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
Details
- Work in an outpatient endoscopy center and digestive health department setting
- Care for patients undergoing routine GI procedures including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy
- Provide direct patient care through prep, intra-procedure, and recovery phases
- Deliver moderate sedation under physician direction
- Assist CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement
- Provide phase 1 and phase 2 recovery care
- Float between the Endoscopy Center and Digestive Health Department required
- Day shift with rotating start times between 0630 and 0830
- Schedule consists of 4, 9-hour shifts per week with a rotating day off (36 hours/week)
- No weekend or holiday shifts required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required
- BLS-AHA and ACLS-AHA certification required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required
- Experience with IV initiation, health history review, and patient education
- Skilled in nursing documentation, delegation, and applying the nursing process
- Experience with Epic charting
Additional Information
- Perform initial patient assessments, develop plans of care, and modify care based on ongoing evaluation
- Report and correct safety hazards and incidents as part of patient and employee safety responsibilities
- Collaborate with unit staff and delegate to unlicensed personnel as appropriate
- Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in professional development
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
