Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a VA or compact RN license and 1+ years of experience.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed Medical-Surgical Combination unit within an academic community hospital
• Serves patients of all ages
• Maintains a 1:6 patient ratio
• Uses Meditech EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Works every other weekend, with additional weekend coverage as needed
• On-call duties required as needed
• Floating to other units required as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (Virginia or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Healthcare Worker Competency (HWC, available on-site)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• 2+ years of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Must consent to random drug screening and complete a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form

• Facility features the region's only designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center
• Comprehensive services include 24-hour ED, 2 cath labs, medical and radiation oncology, and a day surgery center
• Professional demeanor expected on the unit
• Scrubs of any color accepted; no casual wear permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates must not be employed elsewhere full time
• Random drug screens are completed on site
