Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Neuro ICU RN with a compact or CO RN license for a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical ICU requiring at least one year of dedicated Neuro ICU experience.
Details
- , within a Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
- 24-bed Neurosurgical ICU with high acuity, fast-paced surgical ICU environment
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day and night shift rotation on a 3x12 hour schedule (7:30-19:30 and 19:00-7:00)
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- Floating required, including to sister facilities in the Metro region per facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
- Navy scrub color required
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Minimum 1 year of dedicated Neurosurgical ICU experience required
- Level II Trauma experience required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Competency required in hourly neurological assessments, ICP management, EVD/ventric management, subarachnoid hemorrhage management, post-thrombectomy care, and post-craniotomy care
- Epic charting experience required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to a high-acuity neurosurgical ICU population including stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, and post-neurosurgical patients
- Manage complex interventions including arterial and central lines, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and ventilator management
- Responsible for hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply if minimum experience requirements are met
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with RTO restricted during specific blackout periods
- Local candidates accepted; local bill rate applies for candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility
- Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose this information for eligibility review
- Candidates who applied to UCHealth's internal travel or perm staff positions within the last two years are ineligible for consideration
- Travelers who completed a full year on assignment with UCHealth OR may not be rebooked for at least one year
- Completion of all facility-specific training modules is required within the first week of assignment
