Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a NICU/PICU night shift position requiring at least one year of Adult Critical Care, PICU, and NICU experience.
Details
- Work in the CRT NICU unit providing respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- 13-week assignment length
- Performs blood gas lab procedures and diagnostic testing
- Applies and manages mechanical and non-invasive ventilation
- Performs or assists with advanced procedures including intubations, bronchoscopy, and tracheostomy
Requirements
- Current CRT certification accepted
- Current FL RRT license required
- Florida or compact license required in hand for consideration
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Adult Critical Care, PICU, and NICU settings required
- NICU and PICU experience required (does not have to be Level 3 NICU)
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and ALS certifications required
- Must complete Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Provides quality patient care in accordance with facility policy and clinical practice guidelines
- Demonstrates proficiency in obtaining, analyzing, and recording blood gas results
- Performs quality control and preventative maintenance on blood gas equipment
- Acts as a consultant to nursing, ancillary, and medical staff regarding respiratory care
- Provides recommendations for plans of care to improve patient outcomes
- Provides education and consultation to patients, families, staff, and physicians
- Smoke-free facility
- Accepts local candidates within a 60-mile radius at a lower rate
- Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must pass a Basic Arrhythmia assessment for critical care and related specialty areas
