Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level I Trauma OR experience and the ability to scrub and circulate independently.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital environment
- 13-week assignment length
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
- On-call responsibilities required
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), all via AHA
- Minimum 3 years recent Operating Room experience required
- Level I Trauma OR experience required
- Must be able to work independently and be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating
- Ortho and Neuro surgical experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Degree required from an accredited school, or from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON) with 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months
- Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools not accepted
Additional Information
- Perform surgical nursing duties including scrubbing and circulating for Ortho and Neuro procedures
- Facility is a Level I Trauma Center
- Smoke-free facility
- Must complete lab work within 72 hours of signing
- Requires completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
- Locals within a 60-mile radius are considered at a lower pay rate
- Permanent employees must be separated from the facility for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Basic Arrhythmia assessment required for this clinical area with a passing score needed prior to starting the first shift
