Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and an IN or compact RN license.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit (2E overflow) within a hospital setting
- Night shift, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Cerner charting system used and required experience
- Floating required to other units within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- May be asked to provide charge nurse coverage based on operational needs, with training provided
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required in hand at time of start (temporary license accepted if permanent application has been submitted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
- Cerner charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Nursing degree must be from a school accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- Two supervisor references required
Additional Information
- Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
- Skilled care may include wound care, PPE/isolation precautions, and management of central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs
- Experience in oncology, respiratory, GI, GU/renal, neuro, and cardiovascular patient care is preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays; unit is unable to accommodate RTO for Thanksgiving or Christmas
- Up to 5 non-holiday RTO days can be auto-approved; additional days require facility approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates residing in Indiana are not accepted for this position
- Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12+ months of travel employment must complete a consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
