Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of acute care experience and a CO or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on a Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
- 36 staffed beds on the unit
- Patient ratios are 1:4 days and 1:5 nights, which may flex up based on staffing and unit needs
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Various days of the week including weekends per unit needs
- Floating required if overstaffed, potentially to sister facilities within the metro region
- No on-call requirements
- Any charting system experience is required
Requirements
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
- Must be comfortable with and have prior experience working in environments with flexible staffing ratios
- First-time travelers accepted as long as experience requirements are met
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care for Med/Surg and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Support pre/post thoracic surgery, tracheostomy care, and respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula
- Care for post cardiac surgery, post MI, and post angiogram patients
- Manage cardiac drips (no titration), PCA, and heparin therapy
- Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
- Scrub requirements include navy top with navy or black bottoms
- Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods restricting time off during peak periods
- No blocked scheduling requests permitted
- Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
