Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with RRT certification and Trauma Level II experience for a night shift position at a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center.
Details
- Pediatric Respiratory Care unit at a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center with a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts, 1900-0730
- Every other weekend rotation required
- On-call requirement of 1 shift every 6-week scheduling period
- Requires coverage of 1 winter holiday (2 block shifts)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating required as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a staff respiratory therapist in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similar size hospital
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Graduate of a CoARC accredited program
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT, and WI RCP license (if applicable)
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, IMV/SIMV, and oscillating ventilators
- Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
- Skilled in arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation
- Experience caring for patients with ARDS, RSV, cystic fibrosis, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia
- Must live 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Must pass telemetry exam (adult and pediatric) with strict passing criteria prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to pediatric and neonatal patients including NICU and Pediatric Critical Care populations
- Perform chest physiotherapy, nebulizer treatments, and tracheostomy care/management
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal inter-departmental transports
- Administer a range of respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and nitric oxide therapy
- Work within a Magnet-designated pediatric hospital known for specialized pediatric care
- First-time travelers considered only if candidate has direct pediatric experience in a Level II hospital
- References not required for consideration
