Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Orthopedic/Spine unit position requiring at least 1 year of recent acute care Med/Surg/Ortho experience and a Compact or CO RN license.
Details
- Work on a 345-bed Orthopedic/Spine unit within a Magnet-designated hospital
- Patient ratios of approximately 1:5 on both day and night shifts, varying by unit
- Common procedures include joint replacements, fracture repairs, and spinal injury care
- Uses Meditech EMR
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment length
- Floating required with a flexible, team-oriented approach expected
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or CO State License) required
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care Med/Surg/Ortho hospital experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Chemo certification preferred, with potential to schedule on the Oncology unit
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and Date of Birth required for consideration (Canadian SSNs not accepted)
- One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for orthopedic and spinal surgery patients, including joint replacement and fracture repair cases
- Work in a collaborative, family-oriented environment where staff support one another
- Opportunity to gain experience caring for patients with varied acute and chronic medical issues
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
