Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring an active MI license and 2+ years of experience on a night shift rotation.
Details
- Work in the Medical/Surgical Combination unit of a 225-bed specialty care hospital
- Level 2 trauma center located on the 6th floor
- Adult and geriatric patient population, ages 18-125
- Patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekend requirement, working every other weekend
- Occasional floating to like units required
- Uses telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
- Cerner EHR system used
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Bachelor's degree required, BSN preferred
- Medical/surgical unit experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment required
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
Additional Information
- Provide acute medical/surgical nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
- Facility offers services including Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
- Bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Scrub color is Galaxy Blue or Navy
- Fingernails must be clean and compliant with Hand Hygiene Policy
- Tattoos that may be considered offensive must be covered
- Excessive jewelry is not permitted
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time during the assignment
