Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical/Transplant Med-Surg/Stepdown unit requiring acute care surgical floor experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a mixed Med-Surg and Stepdown Surgical/Transplant unit within a hospital setting
• Care for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing evaluation
• Provide close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication administration
• Assignment may involve working Med-Surg or Stepdown patients depending on unit needs and staffing
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours per week
• This is not an OR or PACU position

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Acute care surgical floor and Stepdown/PCU experience required
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required from an accredited program
• BSN preferred from a Board-approved program
• OR experience alone will not be accepted for this role

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver competent nursing care
• Document patient responses to interventions and communicate changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed based on patient status
• Administer medications and regulate IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Workers may extend only once for a total of up to 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced, and candidates must complete onboarding steps promptly to maintain the offered start date
