Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Nephrology/Medicine unit position requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience along with a valid Oklahoma or compact RN license.

Details

• hospital setting within the Medicine/Nephrology unit
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours per week
• Cares for patients requiring central line care and management
• Cares for patients requiring foley catheter care and management
• Provides end-of-life care and management
• Manages dialysis access sites appropriately, avoiding improper use of HD catheters or fistula access for blood draws

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a Board Approved Program preferred
• Charge nurse experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitors physiological data and intervenes as necessary
• Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Returning travelers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
