Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a CVICU position requiring 2+ years of cardiovascular ICU experience and current ACLS/BLS certification.
Details
- Work in a blended Cardiovascular Care Unit (CVCU) with 18 CVICU beds and 12 CVIMCU beds
- Care for adult patients (16 years and older) with primary cardiac diagnoses including heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, CABG, valve repair/replacement, VATS/thoracotomy, IABP therapy, Impella insertion, post-PCI, pacemaker insertion, ablation, arrhythmia, STEMI/NSTEMI, and EKOS
- 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- Floating required between CVCU, ICU, and PCU units
- Priority floating to an affiliate hospital located approximately 15 minutes away
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oregon license may be pending at time of submission, but CNA license must be active and in hand)
- Active CNA license required, expired or pending CNA licensure not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CCRN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Strong cardiovascular nursing background required
- Experience with arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IV therapy, and blood product administration
- Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube care, and ABG interpretation
- Experience managing cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and dysrhythmias
- Charge nurse experience preferred, particularly with shock program management

- Provide specialized cardiovascular critical care to a diverse patient population including surgical cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and electrophysiology patients
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team recognized for excellence, including AACN Silver Beacon Award and Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals distinction
- Unit offers ongoing training opportunities including IABP, CRRT, targeted temperature management, and ventricular assist devices
- Advanced certification is encouraged and supported by the facility
- Former permanent employees of the health system are ineligible to apply for travel positions within six months of their termination date
- Finalized time-off requests must be submitted with the application and cannot be modified after submission
- Facility does not accommodate block scheduling
- Refusal to float to affiliate facilities may result in contract cancellation
