Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVICU RN with strong cardiovascular ICU skills and Oregon CNA licensure to provide critical care in a blended cardiovascular unit.
Details
- Work in a blended cardiovascular care unit (CVCU) with 18 CVICU beds and 12 CVIMCU beds
- Care for adult patients (16+) with primary cardiac diagnoses including heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, CABG, valve repair/replacement, VATS/thoracotomy, IABP therapy, Impella insertion, post PCI, pacemaker insertion, ablation, arrhythmia, STEMI/NSTEMI, and EKOS therapy
- Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- 13-week assignment length
- Constant floating required between CVCU, ICU, and PCU units
- May float within the hospital or to West Valley Hospital, an affiliate facility approximately 15 minutes away
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license required (Oregon RN license may be pending at time of submission)
- Oregon CNA license required in hand at time of submission
- OR RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CCRN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong cardiovascular ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and PICC line management
- Experienced in ventilator management, chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation
- Experienced in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experienced in managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and IV insulin protocols preferred

- Unit has received the AACN Silver Beacon Award for Nursing Care Excellence
- Robust training program available covering beginner to advanced cardiovascular intensive care skills, including IABP, CRRT, targeted temperature management, and VAD care
- Advanced certification is encouraged and supported
- Former permanent employees of the health system must wait six months after termination before applying to travel positions
- Facility does not accommodate block scheduling
- Candidates may only be submitted to one unit within the health system
