Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Acute Inpatient Rehab unit requiring a CA RN license and prior acute rehab experience.
Details
- 10-bed Acute Rehabilitation Unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics, with a primary focus on adults and geriatrics
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- Float requirement to MCU/Tele department
- Charting system experience preferred but any system accepted
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS certification required, ACLS required, PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior Acute Rehab experience required
- Experience in an acute health care setting preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, wound care, orthopedic care, and patient/family teaching preferred
- Experience with feeding tube management, PEG tube care, and swallowing precautions preferred
- Experience with lift/transfer devices, fall risk assessment, and pressure ulcer prevention preferred
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Manage the patient and family experience through critical thinking, teamwork, and effective communication
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Direct the activities of ancillary staff and collaborate with physicians and allied support services
- Deliver individualized, goal-directed nursing care from admission through discharge
- Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
- Returning employees must have a separation period of at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
