Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.
Details
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Department
- General ED setting treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- Level II Trauma Center handling shock/trauma cases, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputations
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM to 7:15 PM) on a 36/48 alternating schedule
- Requires 12 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) per contract
- Cerner charting experience preferred
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact license required
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Level II Trauma Center experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation
- Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Skilled in splint application and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Skilled in managing psychiatric holds, acute psychosis, and violent behavior
- Experience identifying and reporting neglect or abuse
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a broad range of pediatric and adult conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and infections
- Manage psychiatric emergencies including suicidal patients, drug overdose, and acute psychosis
- Administer emergency medications including IV vasopressors and assist with procedural sedation
- Support CVA and traumatic brain injury cases, including hypothermia protocol as needed
- Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Candidates should avoid CBD products and other substances that could result in a positive drug screen prior to arrival
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
