Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Resource Team night shift position requiring 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience and RRT or CRT certification.

Details

• Work in a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital with 874 licensed beds
• Facility includes Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations
• Provide respiratory care for patients throughout the facility as part of the Resource Team
• Cover ED, ICU, PCU, and General Medicine floors
• Uses IPPV/NIPPV ventilators
• EPIC EMR system
• 12-hour night shift schedule, Friday through Sunday
• Shift hours 1900-0700 or 0645-1915/1845-0715
• 36 standard hours per week on a 6-week schedule cycle
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within Region 1 including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, any Freestanding ED within the Region, and Central Division facilities (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH)
• Paid for travel time when floating mid-shift between facilities

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience, preferably on a Resource Team
• IPPV/NIPPV ventilator experience required
• RRT or CRT certification required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• NC licensure required (license required if applicable)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Most recent experience within the last year in unit specialty area
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within one year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care support across multiple hospital units and departments as part of the Resource Team
• Support provided by Respiratory Leadership team
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO can be approved, excluding holidays; time must be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours are not met
• Scrub color required: Royal blue

• Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of the home unit; local candidates not accepted
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
