Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring an active CA RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
• Cares for patients of all age and developmental stages
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Epic charting system
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Skilled in IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and phlebotomy
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• PICC line management and blood product administration skills preferred
• Tracheostomy care and management preferred
• PCA and total joint replacement experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Manages care of assigned patients and directs activities of ancillary staff
• Demonstrates leadership through performance of charge nurse functions
• Responds to Rapid Response/Code team activations as needed
• Utilizes isolation precautions and PPE per protocol
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract with only 1 holiday request approved
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
