Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/PCU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience and an active MI RN license.
Details
- 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level II trauma designation
- Cardiac IMCU / Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with 36 beds
- Patient population includes cardiac and stepdown-level patients requiring telemetry monitoring
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
- Common diagnoses include chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
- Uses telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EHR
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- On-call only required during low census periods
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
- Associate degree required
- Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
- Experience with cardiac stepdown populations required
- PCU/stepdown and low-level ICU skills preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to cardiac and stepdown-level patients using telemetry monitoring
- Collaborate closely with a team-oriented nursing staff
- Scrub color must be blue or navy with no blue jeans permitted
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
