Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring at least 2 years of Acute Care Case Management/Discharge Planning experience and a seasoned traveler background.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:25 on weekdays and 1:45 on weekends
• Every other weekend work required to meet department needs
• No floating expected within the primary facility, though floating between sister facilities may be required
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, pending license accepted if licensed by start date
• Minimum 2 years of Acute Care Case Management/Discharge Planning experience required
• Hospital experience required; behavioral health experience does not qualify
• Prior travel nursing experience required, first-time travelers will not be considered
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, may include Charge RNs/Leads

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, plan of care development, and prior authorizations
• Familiarity with regulatory standards such as CMS, Department of Health, DRG, and The Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Safety Goals is relevant to the role
• Experience across specialties such as Emergency Department, ICU, Med-Surg, and Surgical Services is applicable to this role
• Business attire or scrubs accepted for dress code
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the health system
