Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a 12-week assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and community hospital background.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab
- 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- 12-week contract assignment
- 1-2 weekday call shifts per week and 1 weekend call per month
- May float within facility scope of practice and to an additional nearby hospital location as needed
- Preferred experience with Epic charting system
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- CCI RCIS certification required
- Prior travel experience required
- License required if applicable
- Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, and rotablator atherectomy
- Experience with IABP placement/removal and Impella insertion preferred
- Proficient in EKG lead placement, arrhythmia recognition and interpretation, and maintaining a sterile field
- Experience scrubbing and serving as room circulator preferred
- Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and rapid response/code team protocols
- Experience with thrombolysis/thrombectomy procedures
- Comfortable working across ER, inpatient, and outpatient settings
Additional Information
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including stent placements, angioplasty, and temporary pacemaker insertion
- Support IVC filter placement and neurological studies/procedures
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of consideration
- No RTO can be requested during orientation week
- If 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, coverage is expected with no holiday RTO available
- If 3 major holidays fall during the assignment, coverage of two holidays is expected with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
- Full compliance required prior to start date to avoid scheduling delays
- Scrub attire required for clinical duties
