Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the NICU of a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
• Care for neonates across gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and over 34 weeks in NICU III and NICU IV settings
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 depending on acuity
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Variable weekend shifts required
• Floating between units and sister facilities required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial and central line management, and administration of blood products
• Skilled in UAC/UVC care and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with respiratory support including CPAP, HFNC, high frequency ventilation, and ventilator management
• Experience managing neonatal conditions such as NAS, seizure disorders, NEC, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including developmental care, patient/family teaching, and thermoregulation
• Manage complex neonatal cases involving cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, neurologic, and infectious disease concerns
• Perform skills such as phlebotomy, dysrhythmia interpretation, and isolation precautions/PPE
• All RN scrubs may be any color
• No parking fee at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower bill rate
• Travelers must be willing to float between sister facilities as needed
