Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) within Surgical Services
• Facility is a multidiscipline surgery center performing over 9000 patient procedures per year
• Services include endoscopy, pain management, ENT, general surgery, hand and foot surgery, and orthopedic procedures
• Day shift schedule of 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (40 hours weekly)
• Employer prefers 4x10 schedule but is flexible for the right candidate

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
• Current BLS certification
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the care team
• Basic computer systems knowledge or ability to be trained

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care through nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments in the OR setting
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities as needed
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and care coordination
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments considering culture, age, and developmental level
• Identify patient risk factors and prioritize needs based on interdisciplinary input
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures
• Promote a positive, healing environment through nursing excellence and evidence-based practice
