Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient tele experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work on a 35-bed acute specialty unit specializing in orthopedics, oncology overflow, and bariatrics
- Patient ratio of 4-5:1
- RN expected to read telemetry
- Common diagnoses include orthopedic conditions, sickle cell disease, and pancreatitis
- Administers general medications as well as heparin and protonix drips
- Utilizes skills including traction, EKG, PCA, and feeding tube management
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Night shift schedule from 6:45pm-7:15am
- Works every other weekend
- 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours weekly
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient telemetry RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for a group of patients
- Facilitate patient and family education throughout the care continuum and at discharge
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient and family needs
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serve as a mentor or preceptor when appropriate
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
- Comply with regulatory standards and organizational practice governance
