Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting requiring 1+ year of experience and a CA PT license.

Details

• Acute Care Hospital setting within a 212-bed facility
• Patient population includes geriatrics, orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and post-stroke cases
• Treats conditions such as COPD, CHF, CABG, MI, hip and knee injuries, total joint replacements, and post-stroke rehabilitation
• Uses equipment including gait belts, crutches, standard walkers, hospital/specialty beds, and supplemental oxygen delivery
• Epic EMR preferred
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• May require floating between sister facilities within the region

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Acute Care PT experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Active CA PT license required if applicable
• Experience with AROM/AAROM/PROM, body mechanics, pain assessment, skin integrity, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring
• Experience with assistive devices and gait training
• Skilled in home exercise program development and patient/family education
• Experience with documentation including evaluations, plans of care, reassessments, short-term goals, and discharge planning
• Epic charting experience preferred
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Core responsibilities include patient evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge coordination in an acute care hospital environment
• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a local rate
• Returning staff who previously worked at the facility as permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
