Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a hospital and trauma center, requiring an active WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Unit of a hospital and trauma center
• Adult medical-surgical patient population
• Night shift schedule (6:30P-7A) with 12-hour shifts
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend and holiday shifts required
• Floating to other units may be required

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Prior Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Flu vaccination required
• Education verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Utilize the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Document care according to established standards
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of a patient's longitudinal plan of care
• Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command as needed
