Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a mixed PCU/Med Surg-Tele unit requiring an active MI RN license and at least 1 year of acute care experience.
Details
- Mixed unit setting covering PCU, Med Surg/Tele, and Med Surg patient populations
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within service line/scope of practice as needed, including to other units and/or facilities
- Uses Pyxis medication system
- Telemetry monitoring required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and IV insulin protocols
- Experience with non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula use required
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across a mixed PCU/Med Surg-Tele patient population, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Scrub color required is navy
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this unit
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted
- Time off requests of 7 or more days require manager approval, and time off is not permitted on holidays or the days before/after holidays
- Returning staff who previously worked permanently at the facility must have a 1-year separation before reapplying
- Travel pairs may be submitted; if related, they can work at the same facility but not on the same unit
