Description

American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN for a teaching hospital, requiring 1-2 years of PACU experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Work across two locations within the same hospital system: the main hospital PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 unit and the Day Surgery Center
• 4x12-hour day shifts with start times of 0530, 0800, 0930, or 1100
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Weekend shifts as needed per unit requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required between the main hospital and Day Surgery Center, and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; PALS preferred
• 1-2 years of PACU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic (Excellian) charting experience required
• Skilled in airway assessment, ventilated patient care, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring
• Experience with cardiovascular patient care including cardiac arrest response and post cath lab procedures
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central line and PICC line care
• Pre/post-operative patient care skills including discharge instructions and medication reconciliation
• At least one supervisor reference required

Additional Information

• Care for surgical patients across a wide range of specialties including cardiac, ortho, neuro, GI, GYN, urology, and vascular
• Support patients undergoing various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks
• Teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation and 317 staffed beds
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• Pre-start modules required for completion prior to start
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible, with no local candidates accepted
• Returning staff must have a break of at least 3 months since their last shift as a perm employee
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days
