Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Night Shift NICU position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a valid CA RN license.

Details

  • Hospital-based Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU II) setting
  • Cares for neonates greater than 34 weeks and 29-34 weeks gestational age
  • Attends high-risk deliveries
  • Provides breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk
  • Manages respiratory care including ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
  • Performs IV therapy and manages UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter) and UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter)
  • Utilizes Eat, Sleep, Console approach
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Epic EMR preferred
  • May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required, in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • STABLE certification preferred
  • Charge experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Must provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, which may include Charge RNs or Leads
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility, though local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles, with location and dates if applicable
  • Floating between sister facilities may be required as part of the assignment
