Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring an active NH or compact RN license, 2 years of PCU experience, and night shift availability.
Details
- Work in the PCU (Progressive Care Unit) of a hospital setting on a 20-bed unit
- Unit staffed with 5 RNs and 2 LNAs, flexing with patient volume
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Uses GE cardiac monitoring and Hospira IV pumps
- EMR system is Expanse
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment length
- Required to work every other weekend or equivalent based on staffing needs
- May be required to float to Med Surg, ICU (for border patients), or the Emergency Department (for ED holds)
Requirements
- Active NH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
- Strong dysrhythmia recognition skills and critical drip experience required
- Pre/post cardiac cath and pacer patient care experience preferred
- Prior HCA experience preferred
- No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide progressive care nursing services to patients requiring close monitoring and cardiac care
- Work as part of a collaborative team supporting flexible staffing based on patient volume
- Professional attire required with no specific scrub color mandated
- Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be reviewed during interview and orientation
- Best fit for self-directed, confident candidates with strong communication skills who remain positive under difficult circumstances
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
