Description
American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN - Medical/Surgical for a 13-week travel assignment requiring at least one completed travel assignment and a compact or Louisiana RN license.
Details
- Acute Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes post-surgical patients such as orthopedic and general surgery cases, with a focus on neuro populations
- Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weekend shifts may be required based on scheduling needs
- No on-call requirement
- Floating is a potential requirement
- Dress code requires Ceil Blue scrubs
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license in Louisiana or compact license required
- BLS certification via AHA required
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
- BSN preferred
- EPIC EMR experience is a bonus
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
- Make appropriate patient care assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
- Candidates must be willing to float
- Previous employees of any CHRISTUS Health facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for this travel assignment
