Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN - Telemetry with 2+ years of acute care experience and a KY or compact RN license for a fast-paced cardiac unit.
Details
- Cardiac Telemetry/Mixed Acuity unit on the 5th floor with 59 beds total
- Patient ratio of 4-6:1
- Night shift schedule, 6:45pm-7:15am, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
- Every other weekend required
- Uses Epic EMR
- Common diagnoses include cardiac catheterization and stress test patients
- Administers medications such as milrinone, dobutamine, heparin, and amiodarone
- Uses dynamaps and telemetry monitoring equipment
- RN reads telemetry strips and titrates medications
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Perform patient assessments, care planning, and evaluation of clinical interventions
- Provide patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serve as a mentor/preceptor
- Participate in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
- Comply with regulatory standards and practice governance model
- Fast-paced cardiac-focused environment
