Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring an active TN or compact RN license and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Works in a 34-bed Post-Op Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Unit supported by techs on day and night shifts and a unit secretary from 7a-7p
• Uses IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Shift hours run 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Contract labor staff are first to float, based on rotation among other contract staff

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Skilled in prioritizing care, multitasking, starting IVs, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, NG tubes, and chest tubes
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide attentive, compassionate care with a focus on personal connections with patients and families
• Conduct bedside shift reporting and include patients/families in care planning
• Facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center
• Navy scrub top and bottom required for dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
