Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Operating Room RN with a TX or compact RN license and at least 1.5 years of experience for a 13-week weekday assignment.

Details

• Pediatric Surgery unit within a Level 1 Trauma facility featuring 14 ORs and 2 endoscopy procedure rooms
• Weekday schedule, Monday through Friday, 5/8-hour shifts
• Shift hours from 06:30 to 15:00
• Call responsibilities required
• Duties include both circulating and scrub nurse responsibilities
• Documentation performed in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted)
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire
• Diploma from an accredited nursing school or equivalent professional licensure required
• 1+ year of OR RN experience preferred
• Pediatric OR RN experience is a plus
• PALS certification preferred
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures to ensure safety and optimal outcomes
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to support efficient surgical workflows and communication
• Perform circulating nurse duties including monitoring patient status and accurate documentation
• Perform scrub nurse duties including maintaining sterile technique and preparing instruments for procedures
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that can affect pay rate
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
