Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med Specialty Step Down unit requiring stepdown experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- Med Specialty Step Down unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours)
- Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact/eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from AHA
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Stepdown experience required
- Tracheostomy care experience required
- ICU experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed
- Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
- Travelers may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before reapplying after that period
