Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT/X-Ray Technologist for a critical access hospital radiology department, requiring ARRT certification and 3 years of CT/Rad Tech experience for a 3x12 weekend schedule.
Details
- Radiology department in a 25-bed critical access hospital
- Performs CT and general radiology exams, including portable procedures, for patients of all ages from neonates to geriatric
- Critical access patient population
- 3x12-hour shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
- Every weekend coverage required
- No on-call requirements
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CT and Radiologic Technologist
- Completion of an AMA-accredited Radiology Technology program
- Current BLS certification (AHA only) and ARRT certification
- VA state license required if applicable
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays and be available for all shifts as needed
- Knowledge of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology
- Ability to perform general diagnostic and portable radiography procedures on patients of all ages
- Ability to maintain high accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques
- Ability to work in a stressful environment
Additional Information
- Perform CT and x-ray procedures according to protocol, adjusting positioning, slice thickness, and IV contrast administration as needed
- Explain procedures to patients and review contrast history questionnaires prior to exams
- Administer contrast injections as ordered by physicians
- Report critical findings to appropriate personnel and assist physicians with invasive procedures as necessary
- Enter data into HIS and use RIS to capture patient visits and charge information
- Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and National Patient Safety Goals policies
- Communicate with manager or department director on productivity or performance issues
- Participate in continuing education to maintain competence
- Caribbean Blue scrub color required per facility dress code policy
- Candidates must live outside a 65-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
