Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT/X-Ray Technologist for a critical access hospital radiology department, requiring ARRT certification and 3 years of CT/Rad Tech experience for a 3x12 weekend schedule.

Details

• Radiology department in a 25-bed critical access hospital
• Performs CT and general radiology exams, including portable procedures, for patients of all ages from neonates to geriatric
• Critical access patient population
• 3x12-hour shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Every weekend coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CT and Radiologic Technologist
• Completion of an AMA-accredited Radiology Technology program
• Current BLS certification (AHA only) and ARRT certification
• VA state license required if applicable
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays and be available for all shifts as needed
• Knowledge of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology
• Ability to perform general diagnostic and portable radiography procedures on patients of all ages
• Ability to maintain high accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques
• Ability to work in a stressful environment

Additional Information

• Perform CT and x-ray procedures according to protocol, adjusting positioning, slice thickness, and IV contrast administration as needed
• Explain procedures to patients and review contrast history questionnaires prior to exams
• Administer contrast injections as ordered by physicians
• Report critical findings to appropriate personnel and assist physicians with invasive procedures as necessary
• Enter data into HIS and use RIS to capture patient visits and charge information
• Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and National Patient Safety Goals policies
• Communicate with manager or department director on productivity or performance issues
• Participate in continuing education to maintain competence
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required per facility dress code policy
• Candidates must live outside a 65-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
