Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience and NIH Stroke certification.

Details

• Work on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit at a hospital in Kansas City, MO
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Unit staffed with a Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn vital machines, wound vacs, temporary pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, Dopplers, and Imobile communication devices
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Shift schedule 7P-7A on a full-time basis including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Floating required to areas where competency has been demonstrated

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU experience required
• Must be able to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 open heart, and permanent pacemaker placements required
• Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Experience with IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• Two professional references required for MO placement
• No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
