Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring cardiac procedural care experience and NIHSS certification.
Details
- Work on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Unit supported by Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
- Utilizes equipment including Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, Bladder Scanners, and Dopplers
- Uses Meditech for documentation
- Shift schedule is 7A-7P, full time hours required including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
- May float to other areas based on demonstrated competency
- Performs procedures such as IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, Chest Tube maintenance, Temporary Pacemakers, and Foley insertions
Requirements
- Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU required
- Must be able to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
- Experience with post cardiac procedural care required, including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, and permanent pacemaker placements
- Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- Two professional references required for Missouri assignments

- Deliver patient-centered care aligned with facility patient experience goals, including responsiveness to call lights and involving patients in bedside shift report
- Use Imobile for communication between team members
- Navy blue scrubs required, with option to pair black scrub pants with a navy blue top
- Fast-paced environment with a tenured, family-like staff culture
- Many contract staff have transitioned into full-time employment on this unit
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months permitted
