Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a transplant nephrology unit requiring a Level 1 trauma center background and MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 20-bed 6W Transplant Nephrology unit within a Level 1 trauma hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with a med/surg, nephrology, and kidney transplant patient population
• Dialysis is performed off the unit
• Unit supported by a unit secretary during the day, PCTs, and a unit educator
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Shift schedule is 7A-7P with 3 weekend shifts required per month
• No on-call requirements
• Agency/contract nurses float first per unit policy

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• ADN required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments

Additional Information

• Provide med/surg nursing care to patients with nephrology and kidney transplant needs
• Virtual nurse completes patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to focus on other patients
• Unit recognized with a 'We show up' teamwork award
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs, with black scrub pants also permitted
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
