Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Trauma unit requiring ortho and telemetry experience with NIH stroke certification helpful.
Details
- Work in a 23-bed 6 East Ortho/Trauma unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Patient ratios of 1:4 and 1:5 with unit secretary and PCT support
- Care for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and occasional neuro overflow cases
- Uses traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
- Charting is done in Meditech
- Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts including three weekend shifts per schedule period
- Night shift, 7p-7a
- Floating required to other Med/Surg level units including General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma, with contract staff floating first
Requirements
- Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
- Ortho experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- NIH Stroke Certification helpful
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including bedside shift report and hourly rounding
- Navy scrubs required as part of the dress code
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
