Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Trauma unit requiring ortho and telemetry experience with NIH stroke certification helpful.

Details

• Work in a 23-bed 6 East Ortho/Trauma unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Patient ratios of 1:4 and 1:5 with unit secretary and PCT support
• Care for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and occasional neuro overflow cases
• Uses traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Charting is done in Meditech
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts including three weekend shifts per schedule period
• Night shift, 7p-7a
• Floating required to other Med/Surg level units including General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma, with contract staff floating first

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Ortho experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• NIH Stroke Certification helpful
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including bedside shift report and hourly rounding
• Navy scrubs required as part of the dress code
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
