Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Dallas, requiring Level III NICU experience and NRP certification.

Details

• Level III NICU unit with 108 beds located in a hospital North Tower
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity
• Unit staffed with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs
• Equipment used includes nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, ventilators, oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, warmers, and isolettes
• Documentation systems used are CPN and Meditech
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts per week (7P-7A) with rotating weekends and holidays
• Contract staff float before core staff to PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU for patients under 2 years old

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Level III NICU experience required
• Experience caring for preemies 28 weeks gestation and above required
• Experience managing central lines and respiratory care including intubated patients required
• Experience with trach infants and broviacs preferred
• Experience with surgical and cardiac neonatal patients preferred
• Experience with infants under 27 weeks gestation preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Care for a complex NICU population including surgical and cardiac patients requiring central line management and respiratory support
• Unit performs procedures such as central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laps, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations
• Required to wear royal blue scrubs
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
