Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position at a STEMI and stroke certified facility requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Emergency Department setting treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 6 scheduled weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule
• Epic charting system used
• STEMI and stroke certified facility
• Trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and head injuries

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or Level II experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and IV medication administration
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP management
• Experience with neuro-trauma, ortho-trauma, and CVA care
• Triage experience required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma and medical cases including neuro-trauma, ortho-trauma, and cardiac emergencies
• Navy scrubs required
• Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing; no medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Personal CAPRs or PAPRs are not permitted; facility does not provide these devices
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted
• Travelers cannot work more than 1 year at this facility and must take a 6 month break before returning
