Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a Texas or compact license for a Medical-Surgical ICU role requiring 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Medical-Surgical ICU of a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration required
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT) required
- Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and management of acute/chronic renal failure required
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation required
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias required
- Experience with IV insulin protocols required
- Preferred experience includes ECMO, IABP, TAVR, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-cardiac or neurosurgical care
- Preferred experience in teaching, community, LTAC, or Trauma Level I/II hospital settings
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex, multisystem needs
- Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for this contract
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
- Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers may not be considered due to the travel experience requirement
