Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cath Lab position requiring CA RN licensure and complex cardiac catheterization experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in the Cath Lab unit
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per contract
• On-call required based on department needs with a 30-minute response time
• Call shifts average 10 within a 6-week cycle, including one weekend of call
• No floating required between like units, though floating between sister facilities may be expected
• Uses Epic for charting
• Performs diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures including left and right heart catheterization
• Performs IABP placement/removal
• Utilizes procedural sedation administration and monitoring

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience preferred due to complexity of the unit
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with medications including antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, and thrombolytics preferred
• Interventional Radiology (IR) experience is a plus
• Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring preferred
• Skill in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias preferred
• Ventilator management skills preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• RTO must be submitted at time of application, with limited flexibility for post-submission requests
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the area
• Scrubs are provided for the Cath Lab unit
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
