Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with an active MA RN license, at least three years of telemetry experience, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes Surgical, Ortho, SBO, Urology/CBI, and Diverticulitis cases
• Evening shift, 4x8-hour shifts from 14:45 to 23:15
• Every other weekend and every other holiday (EOW/EOH) required
• May float to other Med Surg/Tele units as needed
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Union facility requiring availability to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and CBI
• Experience with CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal management preferred
• Skilled in wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and surgical drain management
• Experience with oxygen administration, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Total joint replacement post-op care experience
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
• Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered

Additional Information

• Must pass a Pass/Fail Telemetry exam during orientation with a minimum score of 80% and only one attempt allowed; failure to pass will result in cancellation from the assignment
• Must also pass a Pass/Fail Medication exam during orientation
• Completion of pre-start and orientation modules required, along with annual module renewal
• Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, though no time off is permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
• Previous employees must have a 12-month separation from the health system before returning
