Description
American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with an active MA RN license, at least three years of telemetry experience, and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
- Patient population includes Surgical, Ortho, SBO, Urology/CBI, and Diverticulitis cases
- Evening shift, 4x8-hour shifts from 14:45 to 23:15
- Every other weekend and every other holiday (EOW/EOH) required
- May float to other Med Surg/Tele units as needed
- Utilizes Epic charting system
- Union facility requiring availability to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of telemetry nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and CBI
- Experience with CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal management preferred
- Skilled in wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and surgical drain management
- Experience with oxygen administration, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response/code team involvement
- Total joint replacement post-op care experience
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
- Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered
Additional Information
- Must pass a Pass/Fail Telemetry exam during orientation with a minimum score of 80% and only one attempt allowed; failure to pass will result in cancellation from the assignment
- Must also pass a Pass/Fail Medication exam during orientation
- Completion of pre-start and orientation modules required, along with annual module renewal
- Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, though no time off is permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
- Previous employees must have a 12-month separation from the health system before returning
