Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN fetal monitoring and NRP certification on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit with 9 L&D beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OBED
- Typical patient ratio of 1-2
- Unit supported by dedicated CRNA and midwife in-house 24/7, OB/GYN on call, unit secretary, and scrub tech
- Documentation via CPN and Meditech systems
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 4 weekend shifts required per month
- May float to Mother/Baby or other departments for tasking
- Performs procedures including circulating in OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management with JADA system, and nitrous oxide administration
- Laborist team model with 24/7 midwives and dedicated CRNA/OB support
- Couplet care performed in postpartum unit with donor milk availability
- 8-bed Level 2 NICU with dedicated 24/7 NNP support available for high-risk deliveries
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), and Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced, or NCCEFM)
- No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- One professional reference required for consideration
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to laboring patients, supporting patient choice and vaginal birth preferences where appropriate
- Experience with Spinning Babies and STABLE program is helpful but not required
- Required uniform is hot pink and black, with hot pink preferred on top
- Unit recognized as an HCA Unit of Distinction in 2021 and serves as a TIPQC pilot hospital for NTSV and Team Birth initiatives
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
