Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring 2+ years of med/surg experience and a ND or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care setting in a Med/Surg Float unit with 61 combined beds
• Patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Nurse aide support available at a 1:15 ratio
• Cares for surgical patients (total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, general) and medical patients (CHF, CVA, SOB, diabetic issues)
• Telemetry unit with monitor techs reading strips and RN confirmation required
• Uses respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPap, and hi-flow
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday coverage required
• Call/standby requirement with low census day (LCD) provisions
• Floating required, with float pool staff prioritized to float first
• Any scrub color permitted

Requirements

• Active ND state or compact (NLC) RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of med/surg nursing experience required
• Experience matching current med/surg unit skill set required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

• Complete unit-specific float checklist and Travel CBO orientation
• Manager interview and profile review required prior to placement
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Cancellation policy allows 4 shifts per contract, or 3 shifts if the contract is under 13 weeks
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year
• Candidates previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
