Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring ARRT(MR)/ARMRIT certification and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Level I Trauma and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations
- MRI department averages 40-45 patients per day
- Treats adults and pediatric patients from ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
- Uses Siemens 1.5T magnets and EPIC EMR
- 12-hour night shifts, Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 1900-0730, 36 hours per week
- No rotation between weekday and weekend shifts; travelers remain on the shift agreed upon in the contract
- No floating required
- Call requirement shared in fair rotation among full time, part time, PRN, and traveler staff
Requirements
- ARRT(R) or NMTCB certification required, along with ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required
- License required if applicable
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Good communication skills and a teamwork-oriented attitude

- Support structure includes a lead tech, modality supervisor, and imaging manager
- Team includes a diverse mix of experience levels from new grads to long-tenured staff
- 5-day departmental orientation, with flexibility based on traveler needs
- Facility and departmental tour with introductions provided during orientation
- Travelers expected to assist with holiday coverage unless time off is approved in advance
- RTO subject to manager approval
- Black scrubs required for technologists
- Free team member parking available across several parking decks
- Department culture emphasizes teamwork, strong clinical skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates are not accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies
- Returning employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
