Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit position requiring 1+ years of experience and an active VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical-Surgical unit serving a patient population of all ages
• 24-bed unit with 1:6 patient ratios
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend work required
• Call requirements are as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Meditech EHR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) valid in Virginia
• Current certifications: BLS, Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC, available on-site), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• 1+ years of RN experience required
• 2+ years of Med/Surg experience preferred

Additional Information

• Work in a 250-bed academic community hospital with comprehensive surgical services and a 24-hour ED
• Facility is a designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center
• Professional demeanor expected on the unit
• Scrubs of any color accepted; casual wear is not permitted
• Consent to random on-site drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form required
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
• Block scheduling can be accommodated
