Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license, 2 years of ED experience, and EPIC proficiency for night shift coverage.

• 34-bed Emergency Department treating patients of all ages and diagnoses
• Level 3 semi/stroke receiving center with no trauma designation
• 4:1 patient ratio
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1800-0600
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirement
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS
• PALS or ENPC in lieu of PALS
• NIHSS certification required
• MAB certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required (hard requirement)
• EPIC charting system experience required
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of care for ED patients across the lifespan
• Manage a wide range of ED presentations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and emergency medication administration
• Experience with procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and care of ventilated patients preferred
• Comfortable managing psychiatric holds, violent behavior, and suicidal patients
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
