Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license, 2 years of ED experience, and EPIC proficiency for night shift coverage.
Details
- 34-bed Emergency Department treating patients of all ages and diagnoses
- Level 3 semi/stroke receiving center with no trauma designation
- 4:1 patient ratio
- STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1800-0600
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call requirement
- EPIC EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- PALS or ENPC in lieu of PALS
- NIHSS certification required
- MAB certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required (hard requirement)
- EPIC charting system experience required
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of care for ED patients across the lifespan
- Manage a wide range of ED presentations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and emergency medication administration
- Experience with procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and care of ventilated patients preferred
- Comfortable managing psychiatric holds, violent behavior, and suicidal patients
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
- Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
